The first colour broadcast on the BBC was Wimbledon in 1967, but, which film has been shown on British TV more than any other? There is a connection here. I've asked this question before on here. Let's see who remembers the answer, and why it's connected!

She Wore A Yellow Ribbon.
I remember my mother saying many times, when I was a kid, "Oh no! Not 'She Wore a Yellow Ribbon' yet again!"
It's a Wonderful Life
It's a good film though.

I cheated, sorry.
A subsidiary question:
What was the first light entertainment show broadcast in colour by the BBC?

Hint: It's title suggested that the use of colour might be somewhat superfluous;-)
That 'Minstrel' lot?
Black and White Minstrels Show.
I was installing and repairing colour TVs all through the 70s and 80s staring in 1968. Great times.

Course it was.
So what's the connection.
I was thinking it was 'It's a Wonderful Life' as well, Sir prize.
I can't say that I ever really liked the Black & White Minstrel Show. That had nothing to do with political correctness though; I just regarded it as rather old-fashioned and a bit boring.

In the link.
Sorry, been there and still don't get it.
// The answer is She Wore A Yellow Ribbon, starring John Wayne. The BBC first started colour broadcasts in 1967. TV retailers wanted something to show members of the public on their sets in the shop windows, so the BBC broadcast the film, 6 days a week for 3 three years, sometimes twice a day. That's over 1000 times on television!//
I see the answer, She wore a yellow ribbon but am I stupid, where is the Wimbledon connection
