Owlet Parse

i know an owlet is a 'hooter' but how does the rest parse?

I couldn't see it either, aelmpwm. No-one parsed it yesterday either. I can see it's some letters of the first few words in the clue but that isn't good enough. I don't get the 'less noisy' bit either, unless it's just that an owlet is smaller/quierter than an owl.
I did try anagarams of a few words and managed to get close to it by taking out NO HORNS, NO BLOWS and NO TROMBONES but was almost certain that was the wrong track

I wondered about OWLER rather than owlet but someone else said it ended in T

That's my take on it, looking at the various parsings, not an impressive clue in my mind.

Yes, i tried that parsing earlier but I can't see where the definition is- unless hooTEr is used twice- once to give the TE and once to support the definition (a less nosy hooter)
