Could anyone confirm
8a: managed to cope with Nick going back to join the army again (4,2)
There is one letter indicated in the wordplay needs to be removed.
We make it 'bore up' = Managed to cope, from Rob backwards(Nick) but re-up? does that mean to join the army again?

Bore up - 'rob' (back) + 're-up' (re-enlist) - so the 'r' is repeated https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/us/re-up

RE is usually Royal Engineers, so 'army', but not sure about the rest
