The Forbidden Corner is a lovely jolly place - great fun for people of all ages.
The concept that it might be mistaken for "genuine heritage" is bonkers - you'd have to be a mean-spirited tit of a person to think that ... or possibly a "Senior Historic Environment Officer" ...

I have been to Forbidden Corner several times and taken all of my grandchildren because it is a fantastic fun place. We all loved it.
I hope they can be persuaded to change their tiny minds.

it's not, it's just the same link but you put a quote mark on the end of it; don't blame AB.
As for the castle, in the picture it looks like a joke. How does it look from other angles? Is it easily bistaken for a genuine bit of castle wall?

Just to make it clear, I agree with the planning authorities reasoning that 'claiming the introduction of an “inauthentic, pastiche building” would lead to substantial harm to the heritage significance of the National Park'. Not that it could be confused for a real castle. I agree that's plain daft.
I've been lots of times, taken children and grandchildren. It's a great day out. In it's own grounds, not publicly visible. Advertised as something that was gradually built to suit the family. No way could it be mistaken for a real castle, such as Middleham (few miles away).
In fact, anyone who takes their day out there is likely to go and get some real history at Middleham and learn a bit about the 'White Boar'.
