Thanks. Can anyone please parse?
Legless- anagram (of constable)
Injured- n missing. I think.
Looks like anagram of constable minus the N but I'm not sure where the indicator is to remove the N
If they are using - N (North) as leg and removing then injuring/anagramming Constable it's a bit weak.
Are you sure it's not 'legless old constable'? If so the 'leg' to be removed would be 'on' (leg side in cricket).

Thanks folks
That would make sense Sedge.
Danword contains teh clue as stated by daveyb and gives OBSTACLE (I know it's not always reliable though)- but it doesn't have the better version suggested by sedge
OP states 7 letters, but obstacle has 8. Leg = on (cricket) which would leave cstable 7 letters but can't parse bar from it.
OP has 8, danny
8 in the pattern shown.
Don't know where I got 7 from(senior moment) but was right about leg being on.
Yes I agreed with Sedge, something feels wrong.
