Sorry for my omissions. This was a crossword in The Arts Society magazine, set by Lohengrin and based largely on an article bout jazz and jazz performers. I have worked it out a ARMSTRONG. (SAILORS - RM, in A STRONG) A bit obtuse, but presumably referring to Louis Armstrong. The 'one of two' , I suppose, is the ARM, but this then makes double usage of the RM
