Hi Ken, missed your Thursday post. Did have a scan through Thurs & Fri card, but gave it a swerve. Have picked a bet for today though. I have been to today's Chester meet many times, usually shirt sleeves and sweltering hot. Not today though.

Do you follow Varian, Togo?

I don't "follow" any one trainer Spicerack. I did today though look for nags that may act on the soft going, and know that Atzeni rides Doncaster well. That is the only real reason that 2 of his runners have popped up at Donny. I have probably picked the wrong 2, Lol. I used to have a soft spot for Henry Cecil 2 & 3 year old fillies, and watch out for Goldie up on the Scottish tracks.

I was a massive Cecil fan in his early days.
Never cared about other trainers much except I think being in-form is important.

When i go to watch the racing, i usually visit the northern tracks (for obvious reasons) and i therefore tend to follow the northern trainers. Particularly Richard Fahey, Brian Smart and Mark Johnston. I do pay close attention when the big trainers from the south send their inmates up this part of the country and, as you point out Spicerack, form is key and i do take note of in-form stables.
Not done me a great deal of good today but i've had some very good bets up on the football - all of which were posted on the racecaller site. A 23/1 acca in the Japanese leagues this morning, a decent win single in China and the Super Clarets to draw at Anfield with both teams scoring.
