"The shop, called Amazon Go, is only open to employees at present. Shoppers are tracked through their smartphones and a battery of cameras using facial recognition as they move through the aisles. " It's obviously a case of "We trust you but just in case, Big Brother will be in the background".

hc4361,my local supermarket introduced the self scan system but occasionally sent a shopper from the that line to a normal checkout to ensure everything was being scanned. Shoppers quickly got fed up with not being trusted and actually taking longer to check out they stopped using the system and it was withdrawn after a few months. Does your supermarket have a check system in place?
This sounded a great system but obviously too many problems.
