Last time this came up I said the same thing, this man was badly let down by the Police the authorities, left to the mercy of brainless thugs who I hope will be rotting in jail for a lot longer.

I read that 2 of the policemen who failed this man so badly have been put into prison...this, I feel, is an excellent thing and can only hope that more of these officials who let down people so badly are jailed. Somehow I think that lessons have not been learned and the public will continue to be let down by those who are supposed to help them so am hoping that more people will be seriously punished for their failings...not least those involved in ignoring the desperate pleas for help by that poor woman who clings to life whilst her children have been murdered by those she was so frightened of.
"lessons learned" is the same tired old excuse meaning they are doing jack about the situation.
I do think the term "institutional racism" doesnt help though, the police and councils are generally failing everyone. I believe it is down to poor and ineffectual management from weak fast tracked university types with no clue about life that lead to this type of thing.
