Radio Times Prize Crossword 9 Thursday February 22Nd 2018

This is not a request for help with the Radio Times 9 crossword but a request for help as described below.
1. With Anagrammer.com I used to be able to use it for 2 purposes:-
1A. When issued with 7 tiles at the beginning of a game, I kept resigning until was issued with tiles which made up an acceptable 7 letter word.
1B. During a game, I would get help by filling in the 2 parts of Anagrammer.com with the tile on the board that I wished to connect with and the 7 tiles that I already had.
With Mr. Anagrammer I can do neither of these as it will not accept the use of a ? where I have a blank tile.
This has completely ruined the game for me and I would greatly appreciate
any help which you can give.
I have already complained to Mr Anagrammer and asked them to restore the facilities outlined in 1A and 1B above, but no answer had been received or expected
