Well, I was promised today that they had sorted it out and guess what they haven't - the page is displaying 28718 but when you go into it. it says 'this puzzle has not been published yet' and the date at the top of the page is still displaying Thursday 19th April.

I'm so mad!

This calls for another email - even stronger worded, well I mean the other one didn't have much effect!

It's now lapsed back to 28717, so someone's trying to do something but not having much success, the date at the top of the page is still showing Thursday 19th April, and it's now nearly 12.30am on the 20th.
It's just gone to "20th April" at exactly 0100.

Perhaps you need to get out more, Mick?

Why?

In a previous life I used to be a Systems Programmer, working for BT for 27 years. I know how systems work and how much goes into Maintaining and Updating Software. I've spent umpteen nights in Computer Rooms testing Systems - this just smacks of incompetence to me!
Looks as if they haven't changed their clocks to BST. I doubt there's much demand at 00:08 though but they may change it if you ask. If not, you could always miss a day and then at midnight always work on the previous day- short term pain for long term gain
I rang them yesterday,They are aware of the problem and are trying to fix it.

Hi Danny, me too, I phoned them yesterday and talked to a very nice lady who told me that they were well aware of the problem and their Technical people were looking into it. She was confident that it would be sorted out yesterday but unfortunarely, well you know the rest.
Judging by past experience I don't think that their techies are up to much.

An update, I phoned the Daily Telegraph Enquiries line again (0800 316 6977) this morning to have another moan and the story has changed. The charming young lady said that the problem was due to them having to do maintenance and them choosing midnight to do it and that the problem will persist whilst this work is performed.

Sounds a bit implausible to me but that's the latest word!
Mick, that was the reason given when I phoned.I have a good contact there and believe that to be true.
