Is 24a Heyer? Historical novelist greeting the queen (poor clue IMO as who has heard of some historical novelist from the 1930s.....except historians).
Many of us who are 60+ were great fans of Georgette Heyer.
As rightly, in the programme Pointless, the excuse of ‘before my time’, is unacceptable.
Almost everything that happened in history, or was written occurred before I was born. Doesn’t mean I shouldn’t have heard of it.
I agree about time is not an excuse but some obtuse authoress for a DT clue is not a good move, that's my point. And frankly 'Georgette Heyer' sounds like some brand of cushion cover once sold in BHS.
