Hi all sorry bother you. I have a very minor Uk spent conviction and just wondering if anyone knew whether SA ask about convictions when arriving as a tourist without a visa from uk? Ive done research and it appears they dont, they dont ask you to sign forms just finger prints for their records whilst in the country but wanted clarification from a those who has travelled there recently please?

I did contact the embassy via email but no response and have little time to phone them. Thanks a lot

It's the same as the Japanese system.

Thanks . I looked online and I know you enter forms as you arrive in Japan but didn't think that was the case for South Africa as couldn't find this online.
I have visited South Africa as a tourist many times with a UK passport and have never had to enter anything on a form. All they do is stamp the passport with a maximum stay date of three months.
I've been to SA many times and have never been asked about convictions. I've never needed a visa either.
