Hello again. I hope you are all well. Funny weather here which didn't help during he exam season. Still it's over . Sp able to concentrate on the better things in life. Like the crossword. And. of course, His Nibs.
I need a couple of explanations please. I have answers for each of them but I am not sure why. As usual!
"Royal wife and cool patriarch ignoring bishop on way back. With the letters I have I think the answer is maharani which fits the royal wife bit. But the rest?
"Drops the answer to this listener's complaint". Probable answer is earache which is a complaint. But again I don't know why.

Thank you Mamyalynne. As always!! I had already sent my last note before I saw your answer. Now that one IS a good clue (but I think it would have defeated me without your help).
Just to show I am not being grumpy let me add that I thought the clue "possibly preparing mutton for frying as opener" WAS a really good clue. Made me laugh (well grin)
