Regarding the OP, I confess I did not fully believe the allegations of antisemitism until someone showed me the evidence, which was pretty jaw-dropping. I'm not really sure what Mr. Willsman is doing, or why he is on the NEC of the Labour party. I find it baffling that Labour is arguing about this *again* at a time when this government of liars and spivs is so clearly in need of serious opposition. I feel disappointed and embarassed by Labour's antics and they simply could not have come at a worse time. I can't imagine what British jews must be feeling.

I'm Jewish Roberta, but Steg is not wrong in the barest of terms, the way we have behaved as a Nation is appalling in Israel.
I am bitterly disappointed in some in the Labour party but I am a Labour voter and going elsewhere politically won't cure any antisemitism, just make it worse x

kvalidir, with all due respect I think you should make it clear that you are Jewish only by virtue of the fact that your mother is Jewish - and neither of you follow the religion. Otherwise a false impression might be gained.

It's very true Naomi that we tend not to follow religiously but culturally we are very Jewish, and I observed Shabbat with my new partner actually whilst we were away because he'd had no experience of that and was interested, and when I was a child we did so often as well, so I feel I do have a culturally vested interest in this topic, not to mention I consider being Jewish to be far more cultural than necessarily religious, but again that's open to debate for a lot of people ( the old are the Jews a race or simply a religion chestnut). When I have children I'll teach them about Jewish culture and celebrate holy days with them even though I'm not actually religious, because for me and my family it's more than simply a belief in God. x

Well in the starkest terms you have to ask yourself how anyone antisemitic would view my mother, myself or my children, and chances are we'd be rounded up and marched off whether we are religious or not, so anti semitism is a huge concern obviously. I don't think arguing you'd not been to a synagogue since you were 7 would have helped with the SS would it?
