Last one from this puzzle:-
Shock from head of church shifting a little power to the right (5) A?P?L The answer seemingly has to be APPAL ( = Shock), and the word play seems to involve PAPA (= head of church) and L = little?), but I cannot parse the wording to justify the result. Yes, I know I'm pedantic - but one is entitled to be (especially with The Times).

Thank you ubasses. I should have sussed that the preposition "for" justified the adjective PAPAL rather than the noun PAPA. But, if that is the case, I am left feeling that the word "little" in the clue is totally redundant. Would you agree?
A little power p
I read "little" as "abbreviated".
