Need some help (as usual!) I can't find names for top left & bottom right horizontal.
Also the 'thing' to highlight in any colour??????? I don't have any idea what I'm looking for, although a post somewhere said it's 'British to begin with, American afterwards'

Top left is an anagram of an American one beginning with S and ending with O.
Bottom is anag of French one beginning M, endinging E.

The one to highlight is British - the series takes place during WWII (avoid the American possibility with the same last 4 letters).

Yes, Copiers - for Serpico and Ragtime for Maigret. Luther is Hurtle, Anger is Regan (the Sweeney?)

RAGTIME is right - he's the Frenchman MAIG....
the other letters are right too (the definition 'they reproduce') he's American SERP....
