My first look at a race card after Ascot. Was just about horse racing replete. Good Cards today all across the country but small fields for some races. Have gone for a bit of e/w value in the big races and can do singles later if I wish. Have also had a sneaky look at Chester and done a mugs bet on the three "Gabriel" horses running for the owner Dr Koukash. He loves the place and likes nothing better than a winner or two so I did a little £1.25 Trixie. I have done the ITV7 which includes the horses below.
Intisaab @14/1 2.45 York
Canford Heights @13/2 3.00 Newcastle
Cardsharp @7/1 3.15 Newmarket
Cosmelli @33/1 3.35 Newcastle
£1.00 E/W Acca & 25p E/W Doubles and trebles. Will be doing singles on them as they go to post.
With those 4 add in Star Alexander 2.05 Nm, Mr Lupton 2.25 Nc, & Ursa Minor 2.20 Nm for the ITV7. Little e/w acca, 6folds, &5 folds also done.
Plus of course my "free bet" Trixie at Chester on Gabriel The Saint, Gabriel The Wire, & Gabriel The One.

Opened the curtains this morning to find that there yellow thing in the sky beaming at me and my first action was to text my son, "Fancy York, today?" with lots of smiley faces. He is currently being extra special nice to her indoors in order to curry favour before choosing the right time to suggest, "Wonder if dad fancies a trip up to York?" My fingers are crossed that his pampering works and she is in a receptive mood :-)) I've told him i don't mind missing the first race as it looks to be all about Haggas's runner, so i estimate he's got another 60-90 mins to sweet-talk her into giving her blessing. Good job she loves me to bits:-)
2.45 York; Great Prospector @ 10/1
3.00 N'c; Cornwennan @ 4/1
3.20 York; Poets Dawn @ 8/1
3.35 N'c; Who Dares Wins @ 14/1
Win singles, 20p L15, £1 e.w. acca; 4 placed = £85, 4 winners = £8,700.

Hope that goes well for you Ken. You could probably make Chester quicker mind. Was lovely here first thing but has clouded over. I can feel a thunderstorm coming. Just doing a bit of dead heading and the usual garden duties, before settling down for the racing and knock up a bolognaise whilst "She who must be obeyed" gets her barnett fettled.
Good luck, too, with the 'Gabrial' bet. Koukash had 4 of them running at Chester last night (one of them being Gabrial The One) and i tried a little Yank/e.w. acca. 3 placed but the supposed best chance, Gabrial @ 6/4 fav, ran a bit of a stinker. Now you've drawn my attention to today's 'Gabrials'............................................................:-/
We did Chester last time, Togo. We are always loath to go in the 'cheap seats' but i think we made a mistake by not doing so at Chester. Our view of the races was restricted to the last 100 yards, yet had we gone in the cheap end, we could have seen almost the entire race - apart from the last 100 yards. That's why we have big tv screens:-) My son is quite new to visiting courses and wants to visit as many as he can with me while he can. Besides, after Beverley, my favourite course is York which, despite always being well attended, always seems so calm and organised. Just love the place.
Mission accomplished! ETA York racecourse approx 1.45 :-))
That Koukash has far too much money, Togo. Can't move for Gabrials :-) Just put a late L15/e.w. acca on before i set off; Cardano, Lomu, Mubhij and Broome. Usually wait until mid afternoon before i look at the late 'uns. If i have a few winners, I, like Capt Oates, may be gone some time because there's an evening meet at Donny!
