In this weeks crossword there is a clue: "Fly first class out of Burma's capital twice over". The answer is clearly Tsetse, but I can't understand why first class out of Burma's capital is tse. Any ideas?
Fly = Tsetse fly. First Class = Best minus Burma's Capital which is B leaves estest which is bestbest twice minus the B's and so you are left with estest and flip it 'over' or backwards if you like so Tsetse!
This is why I can't get these. Where's the part suggesting one has to write it backwards ? Or are we just meant to try anagrams even when there's no suggestion ?
Ah, ta. I read, which I suspect was expected, the last two words as a single phrase.
Wish I was better at this, but as I get older I'm getting worse. Struggle with some of the quick clues let alone the cryptic ones.
