stop returning cask it contains heated water (3,3) it is hardly cryptic the answer is so obviously hot tub, however i can see cask could be tub or even butt (returning) but where does the stop come in, surely not OH, is ho supposed to signify stop? i could see whoa but then we have a surplus WA. could some kind soul parse this for me? thanks in advance
thank you lie in king and dannyk, i was not aware that ho signified stop. i have heard of westward ho, (read the book when i was a lot younger) and of course i know the phrase land ho but i was unaware that it meant westward stop or land stop? it makes more sense as WHOA but i presume this suggests an abbreviated whoa. thank you both but i think it is a pretty poor clue not up to the usual telegraph standard. thanks again for taking the time to explain
