Hmm - another inhabitant of the parallel Brexiverse//
'In July 2018, Bridgen wrote a letter of no confidence in relation to Theresa May in which he argued she should be replaced as leader of the Conservative Party as her "promises over leaving the EU are all a pretence and a charade intended to dupe the electorate which is an insult to their intelligence."
Bridgen has been an outspoken critic of the Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow. In March 2018 he suggested Bercow should resign, and also reported him to the parliamentary commissioner for standards, to investigate whether he had broken the MPs’ code of conduct. An inquiry into allegations that Bercow had bullied members of staff was subsequently blocked by MPs and he remained in post.'
Anything wrong with that? Sounds like he's in the same universe as I am, which one are you in?

If we are a laughing stock it isn't for having the sense to get out, it would be because a useless undemocratic parliament is continually blocking fulfilling the demands of the people, and not telling the EU where to put it's ridiculous demands regarding a deal. It has shown itself to be weak, with no backbone, and unrepresentative. It'll take a while to shake off that image when we finally get a decent parliament.
Fortunately, it the Telegraph is correct, the EU will soon prove useful for once. Demanding a referendum (which clearly isn't going to happen) or an election before agreeing to an extension. Given that the opposition are scared of an election, they can either forget their precious extension, or force a GE, get devastated, and the new government then tells the EU that we have no need of the extension after all.
jno//Ireland will look at the UK and think "Hey, why don't we make ourselves the laughing stock of the world too?"//

A couple of curiosity points, one a question and the other an observation.
Am I correct Khandro that you actually live in Germany - that you are a Brexiteer is not in doubt. Presumably you are excited about moving back to the UK to share its bright Nirvana (or other) dawn ?
The UK is not a laughing stock because of the Brexit issue, that much is entirely true. For in excess of half a century I have been aware that the British are the butt of much mirth, sort of like the way families laugh at a dotty old uncle behind his back but he is "one of us after all" so they tolerate him and he gets away with being a pain - the family in the analogy being other nations within Europe. What perhaps has changed, however, is that much less attempt is made to hide the laughter.

You may well be correct Karl. (suspiciously teutonic moniker)
How do you explain the fact that huge numbers of German, French, Dutch etc. (Western Europeans) that have moved to the UK permanently! No mention of that fact in the MSM, although they do like to flag up how many Eastern Europeans have headed this way and given the EUSSR "zone" a massive swerve. Yet....just massively yet....non of the self confessed, and zealous, Europhile maniacs have move to their utopia en masse. Khandro is doing important work on our behalf bringing us first hand, ground level, facts that are silenced on our official "news sources". What are you contributing to the cause of freedom and democracy? Isn't London now the city that so many French citizens living there permanently that it is referred to as the 6th largest French city?
