I have drawn a blank on all of my standard references so would appreciate some help on these from GK no 681. They could help me solve the few others I still need.

19A separation of a word by intervening words (6)

- - - S - S The second letter may be M

18D archaic/dialect word for a kind of legging (6)

G - M - S -

22A Time of year when oysters are in season (1,6)

- - - - - H - (Could it be - MONTHS, even O MONTHS?

And a newsitem for those who have recently expressed concerns about the ST GK: The Sunday Star/Times here in Auckland NZ has of today begun publishing the ST Cryptic and GK, with the puzzles being about 3 weeks behind yours. The problem is the same as now appears to be the case in UK, ie, they also print the solutions in the same issue, so there is really no incentive to try all sources to solve them. The challenge just isn't there.

18d = gamash or gamosh, which are alternatrive spellings of a type of legging.

22a. R-Months...ie September, October...round to March, all of which contain the letter 'r'.

19a = tmesis...as in "I can't find it anybloodywhere!"
Sorry...I should, of course, have said 'April' not 'March' in my first answer.
I have not seen the crossword your queries relate to, by the way.
