I guessed that 9a Doorman's voice after calling in advance" might be commissionaire and that 3d "Spill pickle ? More flimsy sandwiches" might be lamplighter. I came on here hoping that someone would have answered but while they answers are indeed correct there was no parsing.
For 9a I can see commission but can't see where the aire comes from. For 3d I can see the lighter but not how ampl equals pickle. Thanks
