Cake!!

I have been craving cake. I found a recipe in a magazine for a fruit and jam cake. I had all the ingredients. So I gave OH the recipe and said there you are!!
He got busy on it this afternoon. He did a really good job, it was delicious. He has only made banana bread before in the bread maker.

I've just had strawberry jelly with strawberry angel delight. I love it.

I realize that this is not cake, but I read a recipe for bread and butter pudding about a month ago, and I've made it twice already and am going to make it again sometime this week...It's delicious!

Gosh I haven't had bread and butter pudding since boarding school but I do remember it was delicious.
What do I need to make it sanmac, besides buttered bread? I've got brown seeded will that do?

Yes, Tony, I made that last week and put it in OH's packed lunch. He assumed it was homemade, bless him. I should have let him think that...

I’ve never been able to make a cake. I can put together a decent meal, but baking has always escaped my abilities. I have horrible memories of school Home Ec lessons.

Lb, the recipe I used was in a cook-book, but this one is quite similar to it: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/279519/bread-and-butter-pudding/
The recipe I used called for 1 cup of raisins, 1 cup of sugar, 2 cups of milk, and also 1tsp of vanilla extract.

I made a Mars Bar mousse once. It was horrible :-)

It was. Far too sickly. Angel Delight have the balance just right. Banana one is nice as well.

Bread and butter pudding is nice made with slightly stale croissants too.

I used to make bread and butter pudding all the time at work. Stale croissants as mamya says...also split and buttered hot cross buns, or pannetone. I would also spread the bread with jam, marmalade or apricot jam. If people don't like raisins, use chocolate chips instead. The variations are endless.
