My laptop automatically updated a new version of Edge which has made it worse for me.
I moved to Edge a while ago and it is faster and I use this when I go into BING search. Previously when I bought up a page that I wanted to put into my favourites folder on my desktop which I always used before EDGE I was able to click the three dots in top r/h corner of Edge and select 'more tools' and this then gave me the option 'open in windows...' or something like that. I could then open the page in windows and the option to 'save in favourites' appeared which put the page in my desktop favs file. This option has disappeared with new edge update and I can only bookmark my favs at top of edge screen.
I would get rid of Edge and revert to original Win 10 but then the screen will not show full page and remain there!
Any way I can remove the update at all - have tried everything! I did have laptop set to ask me before downloading updates but this seems to have gone as an option
I doubt that you can remove the update but I'm confused anyway! I've never encountered any browser where one can't bookmark the current page simply by pressing Ctrl and D together; it's a standard shortcut across all popular browsers. https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4531783/microsoft-edge-keyboard-shortcuts

Thanks for that Buenchico. Yes I have found how to bookmark a page in Edge but my laptop has Win10 set up with Classic Shell which I use to have icons on the desktop similar to old Win 7 such as My Docs, Favourites, Recycle Bin etc.
Sorry I mislead you!
