A tiny detail at the end...... "Is this person a foreign ally?" (3) A?I
I originally put in an L to give ALI, not having given it a great deal of thought, but felt ALI was an Arab (foreign) name and was similar to ALLY (though not a homophone).
I now think it's more likely to be AMI which, though a French (foreign) word, appears in English dictionaries and is used in English speech.
What do other people think?
