If*. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
It's a worrying thought that Trump is laying the groundwork for rejecting the result of the election if he loses -- what else is the purpose of constantly calling 2020, in advance, "the most rigged election in our nations [sic] history", if not to undermine the idea that his defeat can be legitimate? It's shameful. But the election hasn't happened yet, and Trump has proven that he knows how to appeal to his base. Too, given the nature of the electoral college, he doesn't even need the majority of Americans on side. I would personally not be surprised if 2020 saw Trump win the College, but lose the popular vote by a record margin.
