Unfortunately I have a McDonalds "drive thru" (sic) near to me. It is packed from opening (6am) to closing (11pm). When the latest lockdown began they delayed opening until 11am for a few days (seemed just a token gesture because they soon revered to normal hours). The resulting chaos was phenomenal - people doing U-turns outside; others beginning to queue 30 or 40 minutes before opening; children in tears.
I cannot understand the popularity of what is essentially a very cheap and inferior product, but there it is. Having said that, what harm are they doing?
I live around 15 minutes from my nearest city but none of the food delivery services come here....having said that and much as I would love a mac, I am not going to play silly devils to get one
why can't many of these people as pasta says get it delivered.... unless of course they don't live in an area that does... personally i wouldn't go near the places.
13.28 Why can't they get it delivered, well its only just about warm if you fetch it, so by the time its been stuffed onto the back of a bike and driven x amount of miles, I would think its about ready for the dog.
Sounds like the traffic might have been backed up due to an earlier accident. If that hadn't occurred, the amount of KFC/McDonald eaters might have gone unnoticed.
Apc Very true, a box of burgers and rolls, plus frozen chips has got to be the cheapest products you can buy in the supermarket. So it must be that they haven't a clue how to cook, or just bone idle, the latter I would think
emmie I've only been to McDonald's about six times, only for grand kids sake, and its cold nine times out of ten before you get it, eat in or takeaway, I'm glad to say I worked on it and got them out of the habit at a young age, by taking them to places were you got good food.
i can cook .... i LIKE cooking. However, i also LIKE macdonalds, and during this lockdown making sure everyone is fed for every meal at home has become a real chore, so getting a takeaway is a treat
Even in normal times a lot of people like fast food (not that I'm one of them) however I understand why lots of people would want to do this at the moment, it's an outing and one of the very few allowed. I don't really see it as an issue as far as increasing covid goes.
