One should never overlook feline anniversaries. It's seven years to the day since my cat, Patches, gave me the loveliest Valentine's gift ever ;-)

I think Patches just got fed up of living in a small house with four other cats (even though they were her own offspring), Anne. She'd been exploring quieter places to get some rest for quite some time before she disappeared so I suspect that she just found another human to look after her. (After all, that's how I came to have her in my life anyway. She just turned up one day and moved in. I think that she simply repeated the process with a new human friend).
And yes, you're right. She was stunningly beautiful ;-)

Wolf63:
I got Patches spayed as soon as she was no longer providing milk to her kittens. However, as she kept lactating for 14 weeks, the vet found that she was already pregnant again when I took her in for her op. I felt terrible about having to terminate the pregnancy but I just couldn't cope with yet more kittens (and I think poor Patches was rather tired too). I always thought that she'd realised what had happened though and that she never really forgave me for it :(
Campbellking: It's nice to see you posting. (You've been missed on the Friday night quiz threads). How's poor little Campbell cat?

Hi Chris. Campbell is not looking cosmetically the best as her nose is slowly being eroded away, but she is still full of beans , being spoilt with lots of tuna and turkey and snuggling up with me under the duvet at night. Any pain she might be experiencing seems well controlled with the regular pain relief, I think she will soon let me know when she is unhappy and then I will have to make other decisions.
