Answers are Tom, Dick or Harry. Fact or fiction.
16) Patient person, 3,5
66) Radio detective, 4,6. I have Dick Tracy, but the letter count is wrong.
100) Had a close encounter, 7,7 . I have Richard Dreyfuss, but the letter count is wrong.
I want 85, Avian umpire, to be Dickie Bird but letter count is 5,4. and 14, Murdered in a cathedral, to be Thomas Becket but letter count is 6,7. Anyone have any other ideas, please?
No.14 known as Thomas A Beckett (with a mark above the A don't what they are called!)
No.85 Must be Dickie Bird - probably a setter error.
I still have a few left to do.
Sounds good, woodcote, I hadnt got that one. I tend to go through with the ones I know first, then the ones I can get with a bit of thought before the ones that need research.
This setter often does make mistakes on letter count, so it is possible. Would have thought if it was Thomas A Becket, the letter count would have been 6,1,7, Becket only has one t.
I checked with the setter and he came back with the following:
14, 85 and 100 (should be 6,6 and 6,4 and 7,8 respectively) and 74 (should be 7,12).
He said answers would be accepted with both spellings.
Hope this helps
