I’m no fan of Pakistan but I think it’s pretty understandable.

There are anyway, it’s believed, up to 3 million Afghan refugees in Pakistan (and about the same in Iran)

We have to remember even the "victims" of the Taliban choose to follow the Religion of Peace. Maybe a different form, but still fundamentally the Religion of Peace.

And anyway, what are we going to do when it comes to the envisaged armada of dinghies?

Like I say, there’s no comparison with the two situations. The vast majority of refugees from war zones spill over into the nearest territory they can find. That’s how it always works.
Soon there will most likely be another civil war in the country when the northern alliance regroups to counter the probable ethnic cleansing by the Taleban.
And then it will be a thousand times worse
