Can Someone Make Sense Of This Behaviour?

This morning I was walking my dog, obeying the law and the socially obvious right thing to do. I picked up and bagged my dog's doings. Just ahead of me, in the alley was a man doing the same. As he walked off, he placed the bag on the ground. I was a bit baffled! Next, further up the walk, his dog dropped another package. The man picked this up as before, walked a few steps and hung the bag on a fence. He then said 'Good Morning' to me as I passed him....I got the sense that this was completely normal behaviour for him. He didn't look guilty or worried that I had seen him do it.

What's the most likely explanation for this behaviour? It was a strange mix of the right thing to do followed by the obviously wrong thing. Laziness? stupidity? Defiance? Expressing himself as an individual? It all seemed so surreal!

sadly this is all too common, round our way, people bag their dogs mess then leave it on the ground, to walk on by some unsuspecting individual - disgusting behaviour and one i can't understand at all.

probably thinks that bagging it somehow makes it alright to leave on the pavement. People have very strange thoughts.

why don't they simply find a bin, and put the bag in that, i know that there is a shortage round our area of dog mess bins but if you beg it up then dispose sensibly in the nearest waste bin, not leave it for the street cleaners to pick up,

Its quite common here for people to hang there poo bags on a tree. Bazarre

People round here seem quite good at binning droppings - not seen any bags left out. It's not very nice carrying a bag of poo if you have some way to go before reaching a disposal point but I still wouldn't leave it out.

i live in an area where there are lots of bins for recycling and waste, its just laziness on their part to be honest.

One of the dog walkers local to me leaves the bag safely off the path and then collects it on their way back. It's a bit disconcerting the first time you notice it, but we don't have many bins locally and I suppose it saves them carrying a poo bag around and spoiling their walk in the fresh air.

The trouble is, how do you tell the difference between somebody doing that and somebody just leaving it?

I save a very special loathing for people who don't pick-up after their dog - I've always picked-up after my dog has shat, and have done so for every dog I've had, and then bung it in a bin, or if none are available, bin it at home.

My footwear of choice are Timberland boots, and on more than one occasion I've trod in dog mess that some inconsiderate ahole hasn't cleared, and digging it out from the sole is very very unpleasant.

but can anybody explain why my Maxie will do the biz between bins - like a good bit - I could strangle him as I have to carry this dirt between bins. Also I must laugh - he does do the biz at a certain politician's garden. I always pick it up of course. All the time every time.

Locally, some people bag it and hang it in the bushes. Great when there's a wind, the bags end up in the road being driven over.

just about it - I mean would you carry around a bg of your own poo-oo. I regard it as too dirty for someone else dustbin whether or not it end up in the same place ( rubbish dump)

ladybirder, I trained them from pups to go on cue - same as guide dogs are.
