I must admit that they are getting very good at imitating plants and flowers in plastic or in any other materials they use now. But for some reason I just can't accept them however good they look in the house, they just don't feel right to have. Give me a real plant any day. Whats your opinion?
It seems that the efforts to eliminate plastic use is falling on deaf ears especially when it comes to making money. We now have lots of people installing plastic lawns. I saw Blackbird on one the other day pecking away totally confused. The rain dance didn't get him anywhere. :0(
I would prefer real plants but have a few artificial ones in places that need brightening up and plants would survive, e.g against an exposed brick and flint wall. Plants don't like old lime mortar - they all died!!
I don't appreciate cut real flowers indoors. I like flowers growing and dying naturally outside. I have no time for flowers grown for picking. Hence although it's a nice thought I don't like being given flowers!!
I have a friend who places artificial flowers in her garden, they look artificial and I just can't understand it, but hey, it's her garden, not mine ! I much prefer real flowers myself.
It seems that even the garden is slowly becoming plastic hell, flowers, lights, lawns, sheds, pots. No wonder the birds, insects, butterflies, and general wild life is disappearing.
I agree Teapots. We have a very large garden planted up with wildlife as our main priority, but you can do this with very small gardens too. And as for fake grass .............
Mind you our garden looks rather too wild these days!!
Plastic and artificial flowers are pretty awful. I feel really upset by them when I see them strapped to a park bench in memory of someone. I understand the sentiment but it’s morbid for the rest of us. I’d much prefer to read the plaque and give a thought to the people who have gone before.
