Rightly so in my opinion :

Rumours recently were that his removal was a key decision in whether Hamilton would ever race again or not
That aside I believe the FIA have done the right thing
People in that position have a responsibility to get the big decisions right
Masi got it badly wrong

It may not have been the desired finale, but if Hamilton or Verstappen we’re a minute down the road and it was boring as hell, is not relevant. Rules in sport are rules.

Even though he’s the F1 champion, I feel a bit sorry for Verstappen; he’s an awesome driver and, I have no doubt, will
go on to win again, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks the 2021 final race was ‘engineered’ to allow him to win, thus cheapening his achievement.
The sacking, in my mind, kind of confirms it.

The FIA also needs to clarify situations such as the Spa debacle. To start a race under the safety car and then stop it two laps later robs not only the drivers and their teams but also the spectators who pay an eye-watering amount of money and can't claim a refund if the race 'starts'

Tbf they have changed the rules after that debacle too :

Indeed, zebo. Nobody deserved any points for that fiasco. Couple that with the disgusting injustice that was meted out in Abu Dhabi and Mrs NJ and I were on the point of kicking F1 into touch. We’ve been following it ardently for 40 years and have attended a number of races including Monaco and Singapore in recent years. We’re still debating our future interest in the sport and now that Masi has been kicked into touch it may have swung it. But there is no doubt that the decisions made in 2021 have brought the sport into disrepute. Things have definitely gone downhill since Charlie Whiting sadly left us.
//…does anyone know if these new power units will have proper engine noise ?//
Same power units as 2021 are being used this year, baz. The principle (visible) changes are aerodynamics and eighteen inch wheels with “spats.”
