Thanks all, my point is that I cannot find a verb to poncho, only an adjective.I feel like complaining to the Times about a grammatically incorrect clue.

The definition is 'ready for wet weather' ie are you ponchoed?

Raccony, Captain2's was exactly how I'd thought the clue worked, ponchoed= ready for wet weather.
