I've noticed there often isn't an "indicator" in the clues Satprof posts.
Eg: anagram, inclusion, homonym, etc.
Makes some more difficult than others.
But still fun to ponder.

With the two Ps, it’s not difficult to find the location for ‘polyp’.

As for the lack of ‘normal’ crossword indicators, this is just how it seems to be. I guess the setters don’t regard Alphapuzzles as ‘normal’ crosswords. I deliberately post in the Quizzes & Puzzles section of AB as that’s also my view. They’re bits of harmless fun for those of us who want to stir up our little grey cells, but not too vigourously.

A lot of them are Mally, makes for a tad of guess work, interwoven with cryptic ability.

Polyp .. 24,15,7,10,24 .. Q is 11 and X is 5. Keyword.. (25,6,23,11 etc) in centre, only 1 solution that provides a key letter.
