Internet Connection Problems

I have a personal mobile router sometimes called a MiFi, I use when away, just in case of no or bad internet where I might be staying.
I bought a giffgaff sim, that I thought would suit my needs.
I can’t get internet signal. My iPad that I use recognised the device. There’s a tick against the device name but no internet signal bars.
I use a vpn. This sim works if I turn vpn off. Not when it’s on.
I’ve used other makes of sim in the device EE Vodafone etc. Never had issues. Even with vpn on . I’ve sent a query to giffgaff but haven’t had a reply. Thanks for any info

Can only assume giffgaff recognises you are using VPN and won't support it. May have to wait until they reply.

There is no vpn support using giffgaff. If your phone supports it there is apn support. You will need to check in your phone settings.
