Blow Heater And Oil
12 Answers
As I use oil a little too much and want to cut back. I have fan blower electric fire in living room. And love it. I am thinking of getting a basic blow heater for dining/kitchen which is quite big but it is just for a quick blast. I don't want oscillating
Will this be more expensive as opposed to oil. Don't plan to use kitchen one for too long. And the oil will go on at some point of the day
Recommendation of the blow heater and opinions of different prices of oil and electricity. Thanks

I had a plug in halogen heater similar to this in our old house

But for small rooms like my office I have a directional plug In heater really no bigger than a large plug and I love it.

I used to have a halogen heater and couldn't get on with it at all. It didn't seem to heat the air, only what was directly in front of it. They are used in patio heaters, which is fine for those sat underneath them.
This seems to back my experience of them:
"halogen heaters only heat the specific areas they are targeting so if a person is slightly away from that heating area, they will not be heated and will remain cold."

Could you just unplug your fan heater and move it to the kitchen/dining room when you want to use it there? It would probably be cheaper to run for an hour than putting the central heating on for an hour if you only want to heat one room.

I used to have something like this (got lost in a house move). Used it for drying out tents etc. after a wet camping trip. Quit effective.

Look at fan-assisted convector heaters. Use convection for warming room, and fan assist as a boost for rapid warming.
I've supplied and installed quite a few of this model with great success. It can be wall-mounted or free standing.
