Lady Mone’s lobbying on behalf of the company, LFI Diagnostics, which she tried to help secure government contracts for Covid lateral flow tests, prompted a formal rebuke from a health minister who reminded her of “the need for propriety”.
A departmental source told the Guardian that Mone was “in a class of her own in terms of the sheer aggression of her advocacy” on behalf of LFI Diagnostics.
However, it is the revelation that the company was a secret entity of the office that manages the wealth of her husband, Douglas Barrowman, that will deepen the controversy over the Tory peer and her access to ministers. //

I work for a FTSE100 company which requires all employees to adhere to the company’s ethics code.
If I was involved in some tender arrangement, and a fellow employee sent me an e-mail as outlined in the news reports, I would immediately forward it to the company compliance officer for investigation.
Based on the contents of that e-mail, the sender would almost certainly be dismissed for gross misconduct unless they could show that such lobbying was impartial, in line with the company’s code of ethics.
The fact that Mone is of the view that the allegations have been unjustly levelled at her speaks volumes for her lack of honesty and integrity.

No - just lawyer speak. You go in crying crocodil tears of Meghan size and weep "what can I say"
and Mr Lawyer-man at £200 / h, says "oh I hve put together a communique saying you will fight fiercely to combat these unfair and unfounded..."
and you say thank you ! and gratefully hand over a cheque for £500....for starters.

The allegations have been made in the Guardian.
The usual course is to vehemently refute the allegation and then offer some evidence to back up your version of events. She has done the former, but not the later.
And now appears to be hiding rather than do her public duty.
In the fullness of time we should get somewhere near the truth.

//Yes gromit. I'm sure she still claims for every one of those attendances on top of the 29 million though. Plus travel, sandwiches etc etc.//
Well if she does attend she cant be doing much there as the story say's "Baroness Mone, who joined the House of Lords in 2015, has not taken part in a vote since April this year and has not spoken in a debate since March 2020."
I hope the Guardian and whoever else can get to the bottom of it ... it smells fishy but to be fair we dont know all the details yet so innocent till prooven guitly etc, and am sure the facts will come out in the end
