Thanks. Yes, apologies, one letter to be removed from certain clues before solving. An 'n' is I think the extra letter here. Crossing letters are ?NES

22a definition is old term for good quality. Wordplay is four letter for green + two letters from useable.
2d definition is weaker. Word for 'bore' (new to me) enclosed in letters for male and rector.
