This was right up my street - I love jigsaw puzzles, and I also love puzzles where we have to work with the theme, as opposed it only becoming apparent after filling the grid.

I suppose if the penny dropped early on this would become a relatively easy solve. My penny stayed elevated for a good time so I found it that bit harder.

A nice way to elevate a jigsaw - thanks, Kevgar!

A lot of cold solving required at the outset, but the clues were accessible enough to keep it on track. I think I was around 75% through when I decided to attempt the grid fill, and then whoosh!

I haven't yet attempted to set a jigsaw crossword, but I enjoyed this variation, and I may have a go one day.

I agree - a very good puzzle and I found it rather harder than some others have seemed to.

It all fell out neatly enough (with a fair bit of reverse solving) once the penny dropped - and was blessedly free of grid staring at the end.
