Don't worry klazo - I'm too hooked on the cryptics to retire gracefully, but there's no shortage of help around (and there's plenty more in the pipeline for when we...'retire'}.

what you do. You bring out the Big book and make your arms ache so others can see the parse. You astound me with your knowledge (but then say it's just hard work sifting) You have a dedication that I have never seen before. And you told me to buy Chambers. Well, You can still do the hard work. (I can hardly see the print :-) )
Even if I could se the print, You see more than me. I have to sit for 5 or 10 minutes sometimes to see some of your parses. It astounds me when the penny drops.
So, for me, We need you ! :-)

My formula for doing cryptics is - get old and get Chambers (the latter makes the former [almost} pleasurable). After quite a long while, you'll absorb the book - so when you do have to check it, you can usually open it within a page or three of what you're looking for (not a trick you can do with the online version!).
Still, you need to be a bit old before you start the process - there are a couple of other fun things to do (...I think).
