For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.for women at least, body shape tends to change post menopause, so clothes might be different (ie a sixty year old might value conveience and comfort over style more than a 40 year old does) my mum who is now in her early 70s dresses differently than when she was 40, mainly because she doesnt now work and she's a little stouter in the middle. also because when she was 40 it was the 80s and fashion changes
It depends, as others point out. But generally teenagers are ok with looking weird if it is what their peers do, whereas older folk get fed up with all that nonsense and are more likely to go with something classic/traditional. The choice then is whether the individual feels more comfortable wearing smart/formal or casual.
