A bit desperate this one, but I’m hoping someone here has finished the crossword in this month’s Shindig magazine. After a long session of googling and parsing I only have one clue left, and it’s a tad obscure -

Interesting… I believe those letters are solid, however. I suspect the answer is a band of some sort.

Not this magazine…and surely it should be Jon “Shindig” Mills? (4)

That must be MOJO because Jon “Mojo” Mills is the editor of Shindig.

Strong words from the 1968 Playboy house band (4)- BURN (I think that was Deep Purple, hence their song Burn, but I’m not 100% about it)

Are you thinking of DP on the TV show "Playboy After Dark" in '68?

I assume 'B' is the other checked letter & you're happy with it?

Yes that’s my thinking about DP, and the B is spot on because the down word refers to the Beatles’ Bungalow Bill.
