I believe there is a push on drugs, especially CL, so expect some more of this.

Shows what can be done with good copers and not liberal hand wringers.
// 11,000 officers from all 43 police forces… arrested almost 1,000 people, more than 450 people have since been charged. //

A waste of time, money and resources for what is a victimless crime. I would sooner the same amount of effort was put into burglaries and robberies.

I think theres a good chance there related... drug addiction pushes people into them crimes
Not to mention the misery drug addiction causes to addicts, there families and neighbours
Its a well done from me, but with 450 court cases coming up and may be more to follow, that 650k will be eaten up with costs. Court costs and I would think many hours of overtime by the police, this sort of operation takes months to get to this point.
What absolute garbage Gromit, are you worried you will be getting your collar felt or something?

Yes it does take time to get to this point but there wont be all those officers on it 100% of the time and also there will be many lines of investigation going on simultaneously.

But whatever it takes it needs to be done, as Bobb rightly points out drugs often are the underlying cause behind many other small crimes in order to fund the habit.

they certainly are
Supreme court has re-written the disciplinary code

specifically - "I thought he was gonna shoot me with his crutch" IS a plea that will run in criminal court
but not in disciplinary proeceedings ( we will take your gun away and you have to go back to Parks)
where - "I had reasonable grounds to beleive"

todays judgement boys

( Note to Mods: this is not to heady for the aver ABer that a plea that runs in criminal porceedings wont work in civil court? - I fear it may be)
where 'I had reasonable frounds to believe that he was armed' has to be pleaded.
( in the cases where the shot man has only his teddy bear and a few fags on him)
but there wont be all those officers at it 100% of the time

yerss - that is why some of the ladies are complaining I think
