Big Seaside Gorilla

I remember back in the early 80's there was a northern seaside town that had a building with a big gorilla's head and arms over the entrance, the gorilla was saying "Come inside". I can't remember where this was/used to be, does anyone else remember this or know where it was? Thank you

I don't think so I'm sure it was on or very near the seaside resort sea front.

I thought it was Blackpool Pleasure Beach but my wife can't remember it.

No, sorry, unfortunately not, it was an animatronic type thing, the head looked from left to right and the arms were stretched out to the side, they may have moved too, it could've been Rhyl or somewhere in North Wales also.

i remember that too red7 but i cant remember where it was. It was only the top part of the gorilla if i remember right. its got to be either blackpool or rhyl

It's the one that red and vonjon described that I remember, although I don't remember it moving at all.

I can't put on the link but found an article stating that there was a big gorilla with moving arms outside Peabody's in Rhyl in the 1980s.
