The first episode of this four-part series will air on Monday 9 October on BBC One.   When news of this account of his life was first published I said I wouldn't watch but I think I will - if I can stand it.  How about you?

I don't think so. I think it would be too distressing. I don't like Steve Coogan anyway.

No.

No

Definitely not.  I don't like Steve Coogan either Tilly.

J.S. always gave me the creeps, even when his history was unknown to me.

Why do 2 of you not like Steve coogan aka alan partridge?

In my case, because he's a pompous prat who pushes his so called political views at every opportunity.  Just another celebrity love.

Same here Tilly!   (RE   JS)

Not sure if we'll watch it. See how we feel on the day. I do like Steve Coogan as an actor, I think he will play the part very well.

Aye, they should be told at Aktin Skool to keep their views to themselves.

A lesson we could all learn.

I know his name but I don't think I've ever seen him in anything.

Savile, apart from his odious deeds was also a total a prat & a liar, why watch someone impersonating him?

I admit he's a very good actor.

Naomi, have you not seen him with Judy Dench in Philomena?  Brilliant.

And he's known for being Alan Partridge, Norfolk Radio!  Very popular, but I never found him funny.

North Norfolk.

Of course Doug.  I should know that as I live in North Norfolk.

Khandro, I'm currently watching 'The Long Shadow' - the story of the hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper - which is excellent.  And I've just finished watching Love and Death, a dramatised account of the story behind a killing in the US - also excellent.  You may as well ask 'why watch anything?'

No I won't watch it. I don't think J S should be exploited, he deserves nothing more than to be forgotten about.

Lottie, //Naomi, have you not seen him with Judy Dench in Philomena?  Brilliant.//

Yes, I have seen that and it was good... so I must have seen him in something.    Thanks.

Naomi, we finished watching The Long Shadow last night. Excellent drama & actors. Very authentic.
