For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.They're all correct, JJ - 21d is an alternative spelling of GLENGARR(y) with IE instead of the 'y' (this will give you the correct ending for 23a). This spelling only features in the end section in Chambers, and isn't in the entry for 'glengarry' (I think you'll struggle to find the 'ie' ending anywhere else).
I tried to give a hint on the other thread regarding the theme - it's simply that they're all Scots words (and a 'scot' is a tax).
The "Special Section" only appears in the latest version of Chambers. Nonetheless, I was able to complete the puzzle as all answers are in the main section of the earlier editions except for the alternative spelling referred to in this post. There are 2 alternative answers at 3D. One is a verb & noun, the other an adjective. Take your pick. Wouldn't be a "Doc" without a dodgy clue!
