The DWP think that if people can use a pen or a telephone, then they are fit to work.

I'm sure labour will reverse it when they get into power.

The term 'compassionate Conservatism' can only ever be an oxymoron.

Rocky 08.42 I was just thinking the same ..The Con party won't be around anymore in 2025 to bring new rules into power .. unless they have found a magic wand they will be waving from the opposition benches.OK.. lol..🤣

//The proportion of claimants assessed as too unwell to work had risen from 21% in 2011 to 65% in 2022, according to the secretary of state.//

Strange how under an uncaring  Conservative government so mamy more are now receiving these benefits.  All suffering very, very long Covid I expect.  Good.  I hope they do sort out the shirkers.

//The DWP think that if people can use a pen or a telephone, then they are fit to work. //

And in a fair few cases that it true.

Anyway, shouldnt we be encouraging people to do some work, however little, so they bfeel valued members of society and not just chucked to one side with handouts?

One would hope so ymb.

Surely there is some sort of work that can be found for many disabled people for at least a couple or more hours a day.  I'd hope they would feel chuffed and proud of themselves.
