How is the title connected?

Not sure what goes in cell 1. more than 1 letter?

There are 3 answers without defs - 2 downs (6 letters and 4 letters) and one across (4 letters). They connect to form a figure (the prefix for this figure goes in cell 1 - it has 4 letters).

The puzzle's title follows the 4 letter undefined down answer - this group organises the 2nd and 3rd words of the instruction given by extra letters in clues.

Theme is new to me.

In British slang, the term "xxxx" is for twenty five pounds...

I am not sure how highlighting those three answers give me a shape which indicates the 4 letters in cell 1, but I am OK with waiting for the solution.

'Quad.' is also a prefix for the figure you should see after highlighting the 3 undefined answers, hankir.

You'll get a shape at 1d and (2nd + 3rd words of the 'instruction') at 1a when you insert the correct prefix.

I have highlighted three words, as above. Now must shade more. Is shading same as highlighting? Or do I already have 14 shaded. I have the number to shade but can see nothing obvious. I can see only three of the events are mentioned so it must be the other event.
